Self-paced Course Overview

The Rugby School Online A-level Physics self-paced course is designed to drill into the most difficult concepts and topics across all exam board syllabuses; those that our teachers have discovered tend to trip students up in A2 exams.

There is a minimum of 8 hours’ material in this self-paced course, but much more if you use it effectively as part of your revision programme – revisiting the videos, memorising some of the animations and retesting yourself on the questions posed.

Each of the following topics are comprehensively explained through videos involving verbal explanations and animations, and varied multiple-choice questions:

  • Circular Motion
  • Conservation
  • Capacitance
  • Magnetic Effect of Fields
  • Gravitation

These self-paced materials can be used standalone as part of your own structured revision programme; or supplemented with our Easter 2 or 4-day Sprint Finish/Small Group intensive revision sessions.

If you have any queries, please get in touch, and we will be happy to assist.

Richard Parker

Richard studied Physics at the University of Birmingham before completing his PGCE at Oxford University. He went on to teach in India, then Turkey, latterly delivering weekly Physics A level lessons to multiple schools as part of a community outreach program.

He joined Rugby School in 2016 and quickly progressed to become Head of Physics.

Richard’s goal is to provide a learning environment where students can self-motivate, develop and flourish of their own accord. He hopes to convey the excitement of science to the next generation and help students build a sense of wonder about the natural world, seeing its relevance in their lives and developing moral and ethical views about some of the issues which affect its future.
